# How to make background transparent in Canva

Remove backgrounds easily in Canva with this quick guide. Make your designs pop with a transparent background. Learn how in minutes!

By the end of this tutorial, you'll know how to make a background transparent in Canva, a handy skill for creating overlays, logos, or custom designs.

**Step 1:**

Open your design in Canva and select the background or image you want to make transparent.

**Step 2:**

Click on the selected image. Then, find and click on the **Transparency Slider** option in the top toolbar.

**Step 3:**

Use the **Transparency Slider** in the top toolbar to adjust the opacity of your image.

**Step 4:**

Drag the slider to the left to increase transparency. For a completely invisible background, drag the slider all the way to zero.
